Board approves Edutech support, cybersecurity renewal and a vendor-payment pilot

The board approved several technology and vendor-management items intended to strengthen district operations while managing costs.
Jeff and Treasurer Craig described a $16,000 Edutech addendum to provide additional support for the district’s student-information system through Sept. 30; the board approved the addendum as a short-term test. The board also renewed a cybersecurity package (Zenix) that includes endpoint detection and related services and said the district will use the state's TechGuard phishing-training tool as a cost-saving measure.
On vendor payments, Treasurer Craig said the district will pilot a contract with Repay to manage vendor payments (checks, ACH and virtual cards) and to assume fraud/ACH risk. "They have indicated to us in the analysis of the vendors we use that this will cost the district no money," Craig said, noting some rebate-splitting arrangements could yield net savings. The board approved the Repay pilot and the related technology renewals by unanimous vote and plans a phased rollout for payment testing.
