The board approved personnel recommendations that included promoting Beth Adams from teacher to assistant principal at the district’s primary school and accepting several staff retirements.
Superintendent Jeff described Adams as a 26-year district educator who served as a teacher on assignment and helped implement recent K–5 ELA work. "It's my honor tonight to recommend to you the board of education, Beth Adams to fill the assistant principal at the primary school," he said, explaining the hire as an example of the district's strategic plan to create leadership opportunities internally. The consent agenda — which also included classified and supplemental personnel items, donations and minutes — passed by roll call 5–0.
The superintendent also recognized multiple retirees from across district buildings and thanked them for years of service. Board materials show retirements on the consent agenda included two high-school staff (Julie and Mark Fields), an elementary counselor (Lynn Clapper) and an elementary intervention specialist (Kimberly Pena).
