Channelview ISD board adopts 2025–26 budget and proposed tax rate

The Channelview Independent School District Board of Trustees voted 7–0 on Aug. 19 to adopt the 2025–2026 Official School Budget and the district's proposed tax rate. Mr. Ramiro Granados moved to approve the adoption and Mrs. Lynette Breedlove seconded the motion.
The action followed a public meeting on the budget and proposed tax rate in which there were no requests to participate. "Mr. Granados moved to approve the adoption of the 2025 – 2026 Official School Budget and Proposed Tax Rate as presented," the record shows. The unanimous vote finalizes the district's spending plan for the coming school year and authorizes the proposed property tax rate that accompanies it.
The Board approved related budget items during the same meeting, including Budget Amendment #6. The district's Business Department also reported an “A” (Superior Achievement) rating in the Texas Education Agency’s Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) for the 2024–2025 year, a detail district leaders cited as evidence of fiscal stewardship going into the new fiscal year.
