Center ISD recognizes cross-country team; Henson reports band and college-day highlights

Trustees heard brief recognitions for student athletes and programs at the Nov. 12 meeting. Cross-country team members introduced themselves and shared season memories while coaches Kevin Smith and Luis Garcia summarized the team’s accomplishments at district and regional levels.
Superintendent Jake Henson also told the board that the marching band earned rating ones for the 15th consecutive year at the State Marching Contest in Waco. Henson noted upcoming and recent events including a college-and-career day hosted at Center High School, FLM bilingual night on Nov. 4 and a CHS playoff game scheduled for Nov. 14 in Jacksonville against Van High School.
