The Center Independent School District School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) tabled review of Texas Youth Tobacco Survey results after members received the district and statewide reports the afternoon before the Oct. 1 meeting. Joyce Permenter, administrative assistant to the superintendent, said the results — from the survey conducted Feb. 11, 2025 — arrived late and requested that the agenda item be deferred so members could review the materials.
The tabled item covers district- and state-level youth tobacco data that SHAC members said they need time to study before discussion. The council agreed to revisit the results at its next meeting so the group can assess any implications for local student health programming and prevention efforts.
