Trustee Kim Brady asked that item 5W (purchase of Safe and Civil Schools training and materials) be removed from the consent agenda and Trustee Carolyn Benavides asked to remove item 5AG (minutes from the April 9 work study). After those items were pulled, Brady moved to approve the remaining consent items; Carolyn Benavides seconded the motion, which passed by roll call, 7–0.
The motion carried with the votes recorded individually in the minutes. When the board later considered the pulled items, Trustee Randy Schackmann moved to approve the Safe and Civil Schools purchase; Marjorie Barnes seconded, and the motion passed 7–0. For the April 9 work-study minutes, Marjorie Barnes moved to approve the minutes and Paul Gilmore seconded; the motion passed with six votes in favor and one abstention (Trustee Carolyn Benavides recorded an abstention).
The minutes list numerous consent approvals (personnel, financial reports, construction amendments, vendor lists, curriculum renewals, donations, and other routine purchases). The published minutes do not include dollar amounts for many consent items or vendor contractual details.
