Theresa Salinas presented the request and program staff (Rodriguez) provided cost details: total district-associated costs of $26,328.30, of which $17,512 was identified for students and about $8,800 for chaperones. Five girls are enrolled in the program and four will attend the trip. Trustees asked about security monitoring of travel and possible family costs related to passports; Rodriguez said organizers will follow established protocols and families may bear some passport-related expenses.
Trustees voted to approve the student trip; the motion was made by Sergio Delgado, seconded by Michael Valdez and passed unanimously. Staff said they will coordinate travel insurance and logistics with the business office and parents.
