Academies director previews new courses and mid-year report for academies program

Josh Culpepper, Academies Director, presented two proposed courses—Fundamentals of Computer Science and Engineering Design Process—to support the district's Engineering and Business academy pathways and said approval will be recommended at the next board meeting. Culpepper noted per Board Policy EH that curriculum decisions require board approval.
Culpepper also delivered the Academies of Chapel Hill mid-year informational update, highlighting industry-based certifications, work-based learning opportunities, capstone projects and general classroom activities. The presentations were provided for information and no board action was taken on these items at the Dec. 15 meeting.
