Board agrees to bid roof repair at 401 State Street using NYSERDA allocation

Staff presented a quote for roof replacement in the ~$450,000 range and noted window replacement estimates could approach or exceed $1 million and may require SHPO review because the building is historic. Supervisors debated using the available NYSERDA allocation now for a roof versus waiting for larger future grants for windows; several members noted roof repairs protect the building and could be completed sooner. One supervisor moved to use the allocated funds to bid for roof repairs; the motion received a second and passed by voice vote. Staff will proceed with procurement steps to solicit bids for roof work and aim to submit required documentation to NYSERDA by the end of June to retain the funding.
