Cherokee ISD raises student breakfast and lunch prices for 2025–26; adult rates not yet set

The Cherokee ISD Board on July 29 approved an increase in student meal prices for the 2025–26 school year. Superintendent Jennifer Bordner presented recommendations from the Texas Department of Agriculture and the service center: child breakfast prices would rise from $2.20 to $2.50 and child lunch from $3.25 to $3.50.
Bordner said adult meal prices had "not released prices at time of meeting." Anne Brownlee moved to approve the new child meal rates and Valerie Valdez seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The district will publish finalized adult rates once the Texas Department of Agriculture releases its guidance.
