Flatonia ISD affirms current textbooks for 2026-27 and reports benchmark growth ahead of STAAR

The Flatonia ISD board on April 13 approved the Certification of Provision of Instructional Materials for 2026-2027 and received a Spring 2026 benchmark update from Curriculum Director Ashley Grahmann.
Grahmann said no textbooks or curriculum changes are planned for 2026-27 and that the certification submitted to TEA will reflect current materials. On student performance she reported that district benchmark charts show growth based on comparisons with last year's STAAR results and reminded trustees that STAAR testing begins tomorrow. When asked about district goals, Grahmann said the target is for "100% of students show some growth." Trustees accepted the certification and received the benchmark presentation as information.
Administrators also reviewed banquet, graduation and summer-school planning and noted summer-project work already underway; the board will revisit staffing for summer school after STAAR results are available.
