Board authorizes RFP for two new buses with seat belts; one to be paid from fund balance

Mr. Chris Sodek recommended the transportation department be authorized to advertise and seek bids via RFP for the purchase of two new buses equipped with seat belts. Mr. Rodney Stryk said the buses would include air conditioning and seat belts, and that the fleet would be adjusted to make best use of the new vehicles; several buses will need refitting to comply with the seat-belt requirement.
Administration told the board one bus would be paid from the fund balance and the other from the current year's budget. Jessica Morrill moved to approve advertising and seeking bids for the two buses; Christina Manzano seconded. The motion passed 6-0.
