Trustees adopt Flatonia ISD 2025–26 budget; board notes teacher raises and partial state funding
Summary
The Flatonia ISD board approved the 2025–2026 budget Aug. 29, 2025, including August payroll that reflects planned teacher raises. Administration said the state will cover only part of the raises and the district has not yet received that funding.
Mr. Rodney Stryk presented the 2025–2026 budget, saying it matched previously presented figures except for year-to-date actuals now showing teacher raises for August payroll. Pastor Tim Rowell, Board President, noted that the district will operate on a balanced budget for the year.
On funding for raises, Mr. Stryk said "the state will only cover a portion of the amount but the district has not received any of the funds yet." Blanca Villanueva moved to adopt the 2025–2026 budget as presented; the motion was seconded by Jessica Morrill and carried 6-0.
