District staff presented the preliminary Texas accountability ratings covering 2023, 2024 and 2025 and discussed how the district calculates a proportionate district rating.
Ashley Grahmann told trustees the ratings were newly released to districts and noted the challenge of measuring academic growth in a district that has historically posted strong scores. Grahmann said she will work with teachers to track each student's starting point and monitor relative academic growth so the district can better identify where to target supports. "The goal of the district is to have each student perform either the same or better on tests each year," Grahmann said.
Board President Tim Rowell expressed appreciation for the staff's continued work. The board packet and meeting minutes list the topic and the years covered but do not record the text of the ratings or numeric scores; the district indicated it will provide additional assessment details to teachers and staff for tracking purposes.
