The board accepted the district safety-hazards annual report. Administration described the process and how it interfaces with state guidance: "this report, and I'll have mister Osborne in the wings, but I'll start it off here. It's a report that we, receive annually based upon, the the mile and 0.5 radius walk to school. So students that live within that, 1.5 mile radius are not bussed to school unless there are hazardous conditions that would prevent them from traveling safely to school," the superintendent said.
Staff explained the district submits requests to ISBE for bus service in areas that meet hazardous conditions and noted that the report is produced yearly to ensure those areas are assessed. The board approved the report by recorded voice vote (5 ayes, 0 nays, 2 absent).
