The Edgewood Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved a broad consent agenda at its May 19 meeting that included multiple instructional materials purchases and technology contracts.
"Motion to approve consent items A through R. This motion, made by Michael Valdez and seconded by Sergio Delgado, Passed," the record shows. The consent package listed specific purchases: $51,418.56 for Career and Technology Education Tier 1 instructional materials from Goodheart-Willcox (Title I); $144,559.90 for Amira Learning's K–6 reading suite (Title I); $436,009.52 for instructional materials from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (Instructional Materials and Technology Allotment); MAP Growth assessments from NWEA for $107,725.00 (Title I); Panorama Education services not to exceed $79,500; and a radio purchase from Dailey Wells of $330,921.00 using SAFE Cycle 2 Grant Funds.
Theresa Salinas, Assistant Superintendent of Academic Services, presented many of the curriculum and assessment items; Myrna G. Martinez, Assistant Superintendent of Business Operations, presented business items including contract extensions and the radio equipment purchase. The motion to approve the full consent list was made by Board Trustee Michael Valdez and seconded by Trustee Sergio Delgado; the meeting minutes record the vote as unanimous with all seven trustees voting "Yea."
