Sedgwick County Treasurer details tag office staffing, satellite expansion and heavy July volume

Sedgwick County Treasurer Brandy Bailey briefed the Board on operations, staffing and customer service work in the Treasurer’s Tag Office. She said a Derby satellite station has opened with one clerk station now operating and space for a second when staffing permits.
“We are continuing to make progress on additional satellite offices,” Bailey said. She described appointment demand (customers can book up to 45 days in advance) and urged residents not to book multiple appointments, noting the Douglas office alone offers 105 appointment slots per day. Bailey reported July totals: 66,903 transactions (40,885 in person; 26,018 online), about 2,909 transactions per day on average and 21,276 in-person customers countywide.
Commissioners thanked Bailey and asked clarifying questions about staffing; Bailey said five frontline positions were posted and that additional state funding is expected to increase staffing capacity in January.
