After reconvening from executive session on Jan. 12, the Flatonia ISD Board of Trustees voted to approve a resolution authorizing certain person(s) to possess firearms on school premises. The motion was made by Blanca Villanueva, seconded by Dan Sullivan, and passed 6–0.
The action was taken following closed-session deliberations on personnel and school safety under Texas Government Code sections cited on the agenda. Trustees also reported discussion items on the superintendent's evaluation and a district vulnerability assessment but recorded no additional public actions on those items at the meeting.
