Flatonia ISD marks 150 years of public education with alumni, proclamation and community exhibits

Flatonia ISD held a 150th anniversary celebration of Flatonia public schools that drew alumni and community members. Superintendent Chris Sodek and district staff praised organizer Robin Branecky and community volunteers for compiling archives and arranging speakers including Mrs. Pape and Mike Steinhauser; Mayor Seale read the Flatonia ISD proclamation.
Robin Branecky, who coordinated the event, thanked volunteers and community contributors and said, "The people make Flatonia what it is and I am grateful to be in such a great community." The event included memorabilia and an oldest-visitor alumnus who graduated in 1950 and identified many people in historic photos.
