Flatonia ISD reports 'Accredited' TAPR results; district outperforms state on STAAR/EOC

Flatonia ISD presented its Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR) to the school board on Feb. 12, 2026, with Curriculum Director Ashley Grahmann highlighting that the district ranks above the state average at the 'approaches', 'meets' and 'masters' levels on STAAR and EOC tests. Grahmann also reported that both the 2023–24 and 2024–25 accreditation ratings were released this year and the district received the highest rating of "Accredited."
Trustees asked several procedural and metric questions. Pastor Tim Rowell asked whether the criteria for classifying students as Economically Disadvantaged had changed after the district saw declining counts; Grahmann responded that "the criteria has not changed." The board also asked why military enlistment is not included in postsecondary-readiness point calculations; Grahmann said that the Texas Education Agency (TEA) currently does not include enlistment information in the TAPR postsecondary-readiness metric. Trustees noted forthcoming state requirements for beginning-, middle- and end-of-year assessments and directed staff to update district goals to align with the new assessment cadence.
