Flatonia ISD honors students and volunteers, plans March 150th celebration

Flatonia ISD recognized student achievement and volunteer contributions at its Dec. 8 meeting. Elementary Principal Laura Kutac presented PK students Ruth Vick and Easton Wyles as Bulldogs of the Month; Secondary Principal Gabe Adamek recognized Junior High student Daniela Balderas (absent) and High School student Summer Sodek.
Robin Branecky and Courtney Veselka presented Bulldog Pride awards to the Flatonia Masonic Lodge #436 and Sharon Vrana for long-time concession and FFA support. Sarah Lesikar and Christina Mulholland recognized Elementary and Junior High students who placed at Academic UIL contests held Nov. 10 and 12. Branecky also announced Savannah Dees as the Christmas card design winner.
Branecky and Judy Pate said the district is planning a yearlong 150th anniversary celebration, with a March event during Texas Public Schools Week, and they will prepare an application to seek a historical marker. Superintendent Chris Sodek presented customized stadium seats as a holiday recognition to board members.
