The Fabens Independent School District presented a series of monthly updates and recognitions at the Feb. 18 board meeting. District Media Specialist Sofia Maciel screened a monthly update video and introduced new Athletic Director Emanuel Estrada. The board also recognized the Maintenance Department for recent projects and Special Education staff for their performance on the Texas Education Agency’s cyclical monitoring report.
Special Education Director Diane Flores told trustees the monitoring packet highlighted on page 3 the language 'Action Required: No Action Required,' indicating the TEA did not require corrective actions for the district at this time. Human Resources Director Aide Polanco also announced four new hires for the 2025–2026 year: Bryan Borjas, Emanuel Estrada, Gilberto Hernandez and Jami Palacios.
