Chief Boyd of the police department presented a resolution for the board to adopt stating that each campus should have a minimum of one commissioned security officer, in keeping with state requirements. He said the district had been operating under a good-cause exemption but now has a commissioned peace officer assigned to every campus and recommended the board memorialize the minimum staffing in the district’s resolution bank.
Board members asked whether the resolution changes policy; staff clarified it is an administrative resolution for state compliance, not a new board policy. The motion to adopt the resolution was moved, seconded and recorded as unanimous.
