Student performances and community support highlighted; Shaq team donates 250 pairs of shoes

At the start of the meeting the board heard musical performances by Fort Sam Houston Elementary and Robert G. Cole Middle School choirs under the direction of Madeline Bulen and Kerri Synder. Trustees paused for a photo opportunity with student performers and board members offered commendations for campus activities and staff contributions.
Athletics Director Larry Norman reported recent tournaments (Nov. 20–22 girls’ tournament with 11 teams; Dec. 4–6 varsity boys’ tournament with 12 teams, seven of which were state-ranked) and community support: the FORWARD program donated 50 pairs of basketball shoes to the middle school girls’ team, and Shaquille O’Neal and his team contributed 250 pairs of shoes and backpacks for student athletes across both boys’ and girls’ programs, with participating schools’ students to receive a portion of the donation.
