Robert G. Cole Middle and High School Principal Dr. Joseph Cerna reported that the Cole Open Cybersecurity Team is ranked third out of 49 teams in Texas and that the Cole Army JROTC Cybersecurity Team is ranked sixth out of 10; both teams were advancing to semifinals on Jan. 22–23.
Dr. Cerna outlined upcoming campus events—including a high-school pre-registration night Jan. 28 and a JROTC Military Ball Feb. 21—and provided an athletics update relayed on behalf of Athletics Director Larry Norman: Cole baseball games formerly played at Capitol Park will be relocated to the FSH Pershing Ballpark, where one Pershing Field is being renovated to accommodate baseball play.
The principal also noted the district’s talent show fundraiser on Feb. 28; no formal board action was recorded for the athletic relocation, which the minutes characterize as an operational update.
