The Fort Sam Houston ISD Board of Trustees voted on March 25, 2026, to table the district's proposed 2026'2031 Strategic Plan until the board's next meeting on April 15. Secretary COL(R) Aaron J. Braxton II moved to table the plan and Board Member Dr. LaToya Sizer seconded; the motion passed unanimously (Ayes: Nicholas, Zinnante, Braxton, Sizer, White). The plan presentation outlined the Vision, Mission, Beliefs and four focus strands: Academic Experience, Instructional Leadership and Capacity Building, Integrated Student Support, and Talent.
Board members raised specific questions about how the plan would identify and develop internal leaders, a potential employee incentive program, and onboarding strategies for military-connected students. The minutes record that the Board desired more time to review those elements before taking final action. "A motion made by Secretary Braxton and seconded by Board Member Sizer to approve tabling the 2026-2031 Strategic Plan as submitted until the next Board Meeting (April 15, 2026), was unanimously approved," the minutes state.
