Teaching and Learning Coordinator Lori Fuller presented the district’s 2024–25 Gifted & Talented program summary and described program operations, referral windows, and professional development goals for teachers. Enrollment grew in 2024–25 to 46 students at Fort Sam Houston Elementary and 72 at Robert G. Cole Middle/High School; no students were furloughed or exited during the year.
Fuller noted program highlights including an elementary Entrepreneur Expo, a Cole STEAM campout and experiential projects, and student presentations at a Middle School G/T conference. The district is continuing professional development so core teachers complete required foundational hours for gifted education; seven of 70 core teachers remain in progress.
