Administration-building and pavilion bids published; guaranteed price expected in December

Abigail LaRussa of SZS Architects told the board Nov. 10 that advertisements to solicit subcontractor bids for the administration building and pavilion have been published and will close Nov. 25, 2025. She said Zach Mikulenka with Mikulenka Custom Builders LLC will collect the bids and, if the process goes as planned, the project should have a guaranteed price by the December board meeting.
LaRussa said Flatonia ISD administrators will participate in the selection process and named Chris Sodek as a member of the bid-evaluation committee. LaRussa also noted SZS provided each trustee a small Christmas gift; the board did not take action on the project at the Nov. 10 meeting beyond receiving the update.
