Board approves teacher contracts, hires diagnostician and VI teacher; accepts multiple resignations

After an executive session on personnel, Fairfield ISD trustees approved professional contracts recommended by the superintendent and campus principals for the 2026–27 school year. The motion to approve teacher contracts was made by Jeff Wright and passed unanimously (7-0).
The board then approved CoOp recommendations to hire Kassidi Johnson for a diagnostician position and Kari Richter for a visually impaired (VI) teacher position for 2026–27; the motion was made by Ashlee Daniel and passed 7-0. Superintendent Craig reported he had accepted resignations from Angela Russell, Shellie Davis, Cindy Hancock (retiring), Randy Barger (retiring) and Taryn Hanna.
“These are the principal’s recommended teacher contracts for those who fell under the District of Innovation designation and were not on the March list for teacher extensions,” Mr. Craig said when presenting the contracts. The board did not discuss specific contract terms in open session; the personnel actions were recorded as approved.
