Gainesville ISD reviews vacancies and approves recommended hires after executive session

Assistant Superintendent of HR LaCreasha Stille provided a districtwide hiring update listing vacant positions across Head Start, campus classrooms, special education, counseling, librarianship, maintenance and transportation.
After convening in executive session to deliberate personnel matters, the board reconvened and approved recommended professional personnel for the 2026–2027 school year. The approved list included Rebecca Rainey (Edison Elementary), Jonathan Custer (Gainesville Junior High), Craig Taylor (Gainesville Junior High), Jacob Gray (Gainesville Intermediate), Meoucha Davis (Police, Gainesville ISD), Lee Smith (Gainesville Intermediate), Victoria Zanchetta (Chalmers Elementary librarian), Michelle Davis (Edison Elementary), Edwyna McNamra (Edison Elementary), Shy Calderon (Head Start nurse), Alisha Huntington (Head Start teacher) and others identified in the personnel listing. Motion to approve hires was made by Laura Otts and seconded by Pamela Clegg and passed 4-0.
