The Gainesville ISD Board on June 15 approved an MOU to reserve four training slots in the Texas Reading Academies bilingual pathway. Dana Dudenhoeffer told the board the bilingual pathway supports K–3 bilingual teachers and carries a state-mandated cost of $3,000 per participant; the district reserved four slots.
Trustee Laura Otts moved approval, Marvin Royal seconded, and the motion passed unanimously, 4-0. The district will identify bilingual teacher participants and coordinate payment and scheduling with ESC Region 11.
