Committee members asked staff and the design team to investigate whether a sidewalk can be installed from Boswell Avenue to the Greenville Elementary School gym entrance to serve nearby condominium residents within walking distance.
A contractor noted the project was not originally designed with a Boswell‑sidewalk connection and explained that adding it now would likely require a site‑plan modification and planning & zoning approval. "A sidewalk installation would constitute a site plan modification," the presenter said, and added that the committee would need design pricing and an ADA analysis before a decision could be made.
Members expressed support for improving pedestrian access given the busy roadway; one member said the city’s prospective sidewalk grant program could provide the necessary funding. The committee directed the design team (DRA) and staff to examine feasibility, ADA compliance and site‑topography constraints and report back with options and cost estimates.
The committee did not approve construction funding at the meeting; it authorized staff to begin feasibility analysis only.
