Monthly construction update: footings in place, budgets reported for Norwich school projects

The CSG presenter said the standing project has expended $36,962,954.25 to date and that the Greenville project has expended $29,225,477.13. Project‑specific figures included $4,947,362.66 at UNKUS and $3,472,071.98 at Moriarty; "To date, we've expended $882,748.50" on the Teachers project, the presenter said. Work reported in the field included installed footings and formwork, foundation prep, loading dock footings, and utility tie‑ins targeted to make networks go live by the end of July.
Contractors said footings and walls are in place for key retaining structures and that surcharge material placed to achieve consolidation has completed its initial monitoring period; the team is watching settlement surveys ahead of excavation. O&G and site contractors described schedule adjustments and said some milestones have moved roughly one month forward; the team plans a July 28 budget reconciliation for phase‑3 estimates.
At Stanton, presenters said virtually all classrooms are complete and that generator startup, elevator inspection and final punch‑list work will move the project into closeout. The committee asked and received clarifications about FF&E (furniture, fixtures and equipment) delivery windows, paving and temporary drop‑off logistics for the new Greenville site.
Committee members pressed for vendor timeliness: a member asked for a one‑page table of contents for lengthy reports to speed review; staff agreed to combine submissions into a single PowerPoint when practical. The presenters said a mix of PowerPoint and PDF submissions can be accommodated.
The update closed with an acknowledgement of the projects' rapid pace and a reminder that schedule and cost reconciliation work will continue next week.
