EDC to treat Arden Hills–Shoreview Business Connect on June 17 as a special meeting; focus on networking

Senior Planner Elena Fransen told commissioners the next Arden Hills–Shoreview Business Connect meeting is scheduled for June 17 at Flaherty’s and that feedback from attendees wanted more networking time; she proposed the June 17 meeting serve as a special EDC meeting if a quorum of commissioners could attend.
Chair Judd Murchie and other commissioners agreed and discussed logistics including refreshments (host city supplies coffee; Commissioner Ted Brausen offered donuts and cookies) and whether staff and council members should circulate rather than cluster together. Commissioners also discussed whether the event should include a short program or a headliner and how to balance relational outreach with longer-term tax-base objectives. "We want to minimize the amount of work that Staff has to put into it," Chair Murchie said.
