The City of Arden Hills Economic Development Commission met May 27 in the Arden Hills Community Room. Chair Judd Murchie called the meeting to order and commissioners approved the agenda and April 22 minutes after a brief amendment regarding Jack’s Baskets’ nonprofit status. "Chair Murchie called the meeting to order at 7:40," the record states.
Staff provided multiple updates: Community Development Director Jake Reilly said the sign code draft has moved to the City Council and will proceed to the Planning Commission on July 8 and potentially back to Council on July 27; he also reported the finance director resigned and Council approved creation of a Humanitarian Commission with recruitment forthcoming. Senior Planner Elena Fransen outlined the EDC work plan and suggested EDC representation at the city’s 75th anniversary celebration. Council Liaison Emily Rousseau said the Committee and Commission Appreciation Picnic may be scheduled for July 21 and encouraged commissioner outreach about FPAC reengagement.
