Interim Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning Mary Kay Entsminger told the board that the district was awarded a $180,000 Will County Mental Health grant to provide mental health services to students. Entsminger credited the work of staff in securing the funding and said the services would begin within the week per the minutes.
She also reported a proposed Chappense JCCD grant of $10,000 to support after-school math tutoring; the proposal was to be submitted in April with a final due date in June. The minutes describe ongoing grant monitoring and that some grants will conclude on June 30 or August 30, but do not list detailed line-item budgets or specific provider names.
Board materials noted that a Grants Management Handbook will be available to staff to guide tracking and administration of these funds.
