Board adopts LOCAL Policy AF, approves interlocal agreement with LRDS for the Deaf and nominates Gregg Appraisal District directors

The board approved a slate of governance and partnership items at its Aug. 19 meeting. Trustees adopted LOCAL Policy AF to address Innovation Districts, a policy prompted by the district's status as a District of Innovation. The motion was made by Garth Cockerell and seconded by Cori Arevalo; the vote was 7-0.
Superintendent Mike Morrison also asked the board to approve an interlocal agreement with the Longview Regional Day School for the Deaf; Jeff Cook moved to approve and Rickie Blackmon seconded. Trustees passed a resolution nominating the current directors of the Gregg Appraisal District Board of Directors (motion by Ross Morgan, second by Danielle Budro) and approved a resolution for Upshur County 4‑H regarding extracurricular activities (motion by Rickie Blackmon, second by Cori Arevalo). All motions carried unanimously.
These governance approvals allow the district to formalize agreements and ensure compliance with District of Innovation requirements and local extracurricular partnerships.
