Gladewater ISD board approves tax refunds, selects McGriff for insurance and adopts Fund 199 budget amendments

At the Aug. 19 meeting, CFO Candy Keller presented multiple tax-refund items and the board approved refunds including $1,895.52 to Shawna Campbell; $2,813.67 to Todd and Tanya Ketchum; $1,622.75 to Markaque and Terri McGinnis; and $1,111.33 to William David Lyon. Jeff Cook moved to approve the refunds and Cori Arevalo seconded; the board voted 7-0.
Keller recommended the McGriff proposal for property and auto liability coverage running Sept. 1, 2024 through Sept. 1, 2025; the trustees approved selecting McGriff (motion by Garth Cockerell, second by Ross Morgan), vote 7-0. The board also approved Fund 199 Budget Amendment #3 to move funds from Instruction (Function 11) to Counseling (Function 31) to support Kilgore College RootEd Alliance, and Fund 199 Budget Amendment #4 to increase fund balance for an insurance increase; both amendments passed unanimously.
Board members asked for and received the financial documentation supporting these items as part of the July financial report; the motions were procedural approvals required to implement the adjustments.
