The Gladewater ISD Board of Trustees on Aug. 19 approved its consent agenda, including minutes from July meetings and the district's bills and accounts for July. Trustee Ross Morgan moved to approve the consent items; Rickie Blackmon seconded and the motion passed 7-0.
Interim Superintendent Mike Morrison said the board will post the superintendent vacancy starting Aug. 20 with a Sept. 24, 2024 application deadline. After an executive session on personnel, the board approved the employment of Maranda Covington on a 10‑month probationary contract for the 2024–25 school year; Jeff Cook made the motion to hire and the vote was unanimous.
