The Chico ISD Board of Trustees reorganized its leadership at a regular meeting May 6, electing Kyle Grimes as board president, Chris Laney as vice president and Cassie Skinner as secretary.
The reorganization began when Mrs. Cassie Skinner nominated Mr. Kyle Grimes for president. The board recorded a 6-0-1 tally for the president vote with Mr. Grimes abstaining; the board declared Mr. Grimes elected. Mr. Phillip Liebel then nominated Mr. Chris Laney for vice president; the board voted 6-0-1 with Mr. Laney abstaining and declared him elected. Finally, Mr. Ubaldo Garcia nominated Mrs. Cassie Skinner for secretary; that motion also passed 6-0-1 with Mrs. Skinner abstaining.
The votes were taken by roll call and recorded in the minutes. The reorganization follows the board’s routine procedural requirements for officer selection at the start of its term. No public comments were offered on the reorganization during the meeting.
