Chester ISD trustees approve 2026–27 operating procedures, handbooks and superintendent evaluation

The Chester Independent School District Board of Trustees approved a slate of governance documents and personnel matters at its July 20, 2026 regular meeting in the Chester ISD Library. Trustees voted unanimously to adopt the 2026–27 School Board Operating Procedures, the 2026–27 School Board Meeting Calendar, the 2026–27 Employee Handbook and the 2026–27 Student Handbook; all of the recorded motions passed 4-0.
Shawna Neal moved to approve the Consent Agenda, which the minutes show included several of the items above; Timber Wright seconded and "Motion passed 4-0." Timber Wright later moved to consider approval of the Superintendent Evaluation, a motion seconded by Jesse Gay and recorded as passing 4-0. The official minutes record the aye votes as Sam Handley, Shawna Neal, Jesse Gay and Timber Wright and show that Wade Read, Josh Clarke and Bryan Martin were not present. The board established a quorum and called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
