Hancock County Commissioners approve minutes, warrants and multiple fund transfers

The Hancock County Board of Commissioners convened at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 22 and approved routine business including minutes from the Jan. 20 meeting and the county Warrant Journal. William Bateson moved to approve the minutes; Timothy Bechtol seconded and the motion passed 3-0.
Commissioners also approved the chair's signature on the Hancock County Landfill Quarterly & Semi‑Annual Deviation report (317172) and cleared payroll, two travel requests for the sheriff and December expenses of $4,981.26 for the Maumee Watershed Conservancy District. Multiple transfer resolutions were adopted: internal transfers within General Fund #1001 for Sheriff and Veterans accounts and Resolution #53‑26, transferring $150,000 from General Fund #1001 to Ditch Maintenance Fund #2004. Each motion was moved by William Bateson, seconded by Timothy Bechtol, and passed 3-0.
The approvals were routine ministerial actions used to process payroll and vendor payments and to reallocate budget authority within the FY2026 appropriations. No dissenting votes were recorded. The board moved to the next agenda items after these approvals.
