Trustees recognized student achievements and community support at the March 23 meeting, including a state robotics title, a Regeneron science recognition and several state swimming finalists.
The board spotlighted the Granbury Middle School Robotics State Championship Team, "The Robotic Eels," named as Alem Webb, Mateo Alvarez, Mason Collado and Finn Burton. Granbury High School student Shanice Gibson was noted as a Top 300 Regeneron Science Scholar. The minutes also list GISD swimming state finalists by name and a Shottenkirk Senior of the Month award to Cameron Ward.
District materials reported community donations totaling $33,627.05 from Constellation Energy (represented by Sam Hardin), Brawner PTO, Oakwoods PTO, 104 Cattle Company (Blake and Ambe Campbell), Donald and Angela Cox, Ryan and Laura Huebinger, Josh and Kristen Taylor, Granbury Pirate Boys Golf Booster Club, GHS Cheer Booster Club, Granbury Optimist Club, Joseph Walma, Hood County Democratic Club, Midway USA Foundation and Ruck Forward (DFW).
