The Steger School District 194 Board of Education adopted a comprehensive consent agenda on June 18 that bundled policy updates, staffing actions and contracts. The second reading of multiple policies recommended by Press Plus and IASB was included, covering topics from Title IX grievance procedures to student records and bullying prevention. Jill Raymond moved to approve the consent agenda and Buffy Garcia seconded; the minutes record a unanimous 5-0 vote.
The personnel portion lists new hires across Steger Primary Center, Steger Intermediate Center, and Columbia Central School (including first-grade teachers and paraprofessionals), summer workers, ESY staff, internal transfers, and a number of resignations effective at the end of the 2024-2025 school year. A Family Medical Leave Act notice for Leah Triemstra (Aug. 7–Sept. 25, 2025) and an external contract award (Absolute Best Cleaning Services, Inc. for 2025–2026) were also part of the consent package.
