Goliad ISD recognizes staff and students; records community donations

At the Sept. 9 meeting the board recognized staff and student honorees and recorded community donations totaling $2,298 to athletics and elementary campus activities.
The Goliad ISD Board of Trustees recognized multiple staff and students during its Sept. 9 meeting. Superintendent honorees named in the minutes were Jerry Dornak and Brittany Salazar. Staff recognized included GHS staff Jason Collins and GMS staff Michell Mertz. Students honored were Zach Scheffer, Jamie Maldonado, Dallas Raymond, Heston Worsham, Kace Blaschke and Mayzee Escobar.
The minutes also record community donations to district activities: $500 from Mary Margaret and Reagan Sahadi to volleyball-tournament hospitality; $200 from Dustin and Caylee Wright / 2W Services to the volleyball hospitality room; $200 anonymous donation to Goliad Elementary; $600 from Trail Head Cowboy Church to Goliad Elementary; $300 from Berclair VFW to Goliad Elementary; and $498 from the Goliad Athletic Booster Club to GHS Cheer for a mascot uniform. The recorded total of these listed gifts is $2,298.
Recognitions are ceremonial and no board action was required. The district will process and acknowledge donations per its standard acceptance procedures.
