Goliad ISD board approves 2024 tax rate of $1.1765

Goliad ISD’s Board of Trustees voted unanimously to set the district’s 2024 tax rate at $1.1765 during its regular meeting on Sept. 9, 2024. A public hearing on the proposed rate was opened at 6:11 p.m. and closed at 6:12 p.m. with no public comments.
The motion to adopt the tax rate was made by Daniel San Miguel, seconded by Jason Howard and carried 7–0. The official roll call recorded Shelia Edwards, Jason Howard, Brandon Huber, Emika Moya, Mac Odem, Daniel San Miguel and Justin Youngblood voting in favor. Board President Brandon Huber called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m.
Board materials do not record debate or alternative rate proposals; the hearing produced no public testimony. The vote finalizes the district’s tax setting for the fiscal year and directs the administration to implement the adopted rate in the district’s tax notices and filings.
Next steps: the district will publish the adopted rate in required notices and include it in the FY 2024–25 budget administration as applicable.
