At the start of the Aug. 4 council meeting, resident and choreographer Sonia Plumb described a yearlong community-engagement project titled "Romance in the Stone" in partnership with the Vermont Granite Museum and Studio Place Arts. She said the project will involve families, students and professional dancers and will include in-school residencies.
"It's launching October '10 at the Granite Museum," Plumb said, inviting council members and residents to attend. Plumb identified herself as president of the Vermont Dance Alliance and a state teaching artist, and the chair encouraged her to share materials with city staff for distribution and to return to council with event details.
