City clerk urges timely return of absentee ballots ahead of Aug. primary

The city clerk told the council on Aug. 4 that the primary election is a week away and urged voters with absentee ballots to either hand-deliver them to the clerk’s office or use the drop box to ensure they arrive before polls close.
"Please, if you have an absentee ballot, get it into the office as soon as possible," the clerk said, adding that the city had mailed 451 absentee ballots and received 255 back to date. The clerk advised voters to use the drop box or hand-deliver ballots to avoid late returns that cannot be counted.
