Steger hires Code Enforcement Officer Romel Stanford, says residents should flag concerns in the field

The Village of Steger announced a new Code Enforcement Officer, Romel Stanford, during its Jan. 21 meeting. Director of Public Infrastructure Dave Toepper said Stanford brings corrections and school‑district experience and will begin training. Toepper asked residents to engage with Stanford about outstanding neighborhood issues.
Stanford addressed attendees directly and promised attention to complaints, saying, "your voices have been heard, all your concerns have been noted. I do believe in thorough and complete investigation of everything that comes across my desk. Feel free, when you see me out there, flag me down, we can have a conversation about anything you need. I am here." The minutes record his introduction and an invitation for residents to speak with him in the field.
