Georgetown ISD trustees unanimously approve consent agenda, adopt investment resolutions

The Georgetown ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously Sept. 15 to approve a consent agenda that included financial reports, Budget Amendment No. 2 for 2025-26, and two resolutions related to district investments.
Trustee Anthony Blankenship moved to approve all consent items, and Trustee Rachel Gallardo seconded the motion; the vote was recorded as 7-0 in favor. The consent items listed in the minutes included the 2025-2026 T-TESS Appraiser List, district and campus improvement plans, and the Annual Investment Report for 2024-2025. The minutes record the motion as: "A motion was made to approve all Consent Items by Anthony Blankenship, seconded by Rachel Gallardo." The minutes do not specify the dollar amount(s) associated with Budget Amendment No. 2.
Separately, the Board adopted a resolution formally approving a list of authorized broker/dealers in accordance with the Public Funds Investment Act (Texas Government Code, Chapter 2256). The adopted broker/dealer list names firms including Siebert Williams Shank, TexasClass, FHN Capital Markets, Baird Securities, SAMCO Capital, BOK Financial, Merrill Lynch/Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, Piper Sandler, Raymond James, RBC Capital Markets, Stifel Nicolaus, Wells Fargo, Williams Capital Group and Frost. The resolution states the district will send a copy of its Investment Policy to each broker/dealer when a material change occurs.
The Board also adopted an investment strategy resolution confirming review of the district's investment policy under Government Code Chapter 2256 and designating the Chief Financial Officer and Director of Finance as the district's investment officers. The resolution lists approved training providers including the Texas Association of School Administrators, Texas Association of School Boards, TASBO, TexPool and TexasClass.
The meeting minutes record that the Board returned from a closed session at 7:01 p.m. and then took the consent votes. The meeting adjourned at 7:42 p.m.
